犬モノは大泣きしちゃうからダメなんだよー。でも観に行っちゃうんだけど｡
噂では渋谷のハチの話からすると話どうなの？って映画らしいけどどうかな。
とりあえずこのぬいぐるみはデカくてかわいかったです。

it's been over 8 and a half years since we've spent time together like this, just the two of us. the other half of the family is away camping together for 5-6 days while we stay home and hold down the farm.
as they pulled out the driveway i wondered aloud what we were going to do with ourselves. he answered that we could play chess all weekend. yikes, he'll have to teach me...again.
sitting down to dinner was when it really sunk in just how different it felt, only two voices joining in to say grace.
and yet, however odd it feels, however jealous we were of them heading out camping, i think we both realize what a treat this is.
so far: we've worked in the garden together, tended to all the animals, read, watched a movie, gone for a chocolate malt, went out one night for dessert and to watch a friend play banjo with her bluegrass band, worked a sudoku puzzle together, had the neighbor girls over, and visited a couple of nurseries for a few more flowers and veggies to plant. oh, there's been lots of just chill time, both together and separatley, and i've been making him keep up on his math work, too.
today is the big day we've been planning: we'll go for lunch and to a bookstore, run a few errands, and then see pirates of the carribean 3-D on the big screen at the multiplex theater an hour and a half away.
still to come: a bike ride or two? exploring in the woods?
certainly more chores,
and chess, of course.
and it looks like one of us will be washing the dishes, the other drying.
11 years old. how lucky it is to have this time.
