Panda Skeleton

The more I see of the skeleton of the panda, the more I get confused. The ribs here look way too small to encapsulate the giant chest of the panda, but I suppose I could let this slide. The thing that's most interesting to me are the short forelimbs. The ulna (bottom forearm bone) has a rather large process sticking out the proximal end. Generally this feature is seen in animals like monkeys for helping to swing and fling themselves through the trees. Here, this might help the panda snap the tough bamboo stalks. I have no explanation for the small hind forelimbs. It looks nothing like, for example, those of a grizzly or polar bear.
Spotted Hyena

A spotted hyena in the Leipzig zoo. I think this was the mother of the other animals there. By far the largest of the animals.
