Visiting a zoo in tourist town during school holidays can be a trying experience. Shrieking little rugrats run under your feet, banging on glass and throwing junk food to the animals. And the parents shuffle around like zombies, making no attempt to restrain their little terrors.
At least it's fun watching the mums and dads squirm when their cherubs ask them what the big goats are doing.

On Kangaroo Island the Koala population had grown so much that these cute animals are a threat for the island's ecosystem. The government won't reduce the overpopulation by killing, because of too many protests. Since relocation to the mainland hadn't been very successful, the only available method left is sterilisation. Treated females are marked with a red ear tag like this one.
