A few nice animal pound images I found:
75 MM Regimental Gun
Image by An excruciating evening with Roger Mathison.
The display reads:
75 MM Regimental Gun
Type 41 (1908)
Japan WWII
This weapon was originally the standard Japanese pack artillery piece. When it was superseded by the 75mm Type 94 (1934) mountain pack gun, it was issued for Army use as an infantry "regimental" gun. It was widely distributed throughout the Japanese Army, being encountered in virtually every U.S. / Japanese combat theater.
The piece could be rapidly broken down for animal pack, the maximum weight of each load being approximately 200 pounds. It had a screw-type breech block and hydrospring recoil mechanism. Ammunition included armor piercing, high explosive, shrapnel, hollow charge, incendiary, illuminating and smoke.
Note the unusual trail construction. The large spade was removed for traveling. The carriage was designed for one man control of aiming, elevating, and traversing. The barrel is the monobloc type with a uniform right-hand twist rifled bore. The top sleigh is an integral piece with the breech ring and is recessed at the bottom to slide on the two rails of the bottom sleigh during recoil.
Caliber: 75 mm (2.95 in)
Weight: 545 kg (1,200 lbs)
Shell Weight: 6.2 kg (13.25 lbs)
Range: 7,132 m (7,800 yds)
Elevation: 320 mils to 720 mils (18 degrees to 40 degrees)
Traverse: 120 mils
Rate of Fire: 10 rounds per minute
Museum Acc. # 46.4.1
