Main Characteristics Look for a the ERJ-145's small tail and short tailcone with the APU exhaust jutting out. Also the distinctive 4 paned cockpit windows and very low to the ground pointy nose cone. Some 145s alsot have winglets. The fuselage is stretched compared to the 135s.
Examples of Main Operators: American Eagle & Continental Express are two of the biggest operators along with US Airways, Air france.Alitalia and others.

Main Characteristics Look for a the EMB-170's small wing mounted twin engines. it's distinctive tail with a kink in the leading edge, the exposed silver coloured tail cone and the classic Embraer 4 paned cockpit window. Also this aircraft series has very large widely spaced passenger windows in comparison to other regional jets. It's winglets too are very pronounced. From a distance this plane can be easily mistaken for a 737.
Examples of Main Operators: United Express, Delta Connection, Air Canada, Lot, Alitalia among many others. It's quickly becoming one of the more popular aircraft types around.

Hydro Quebec Dash 8

I was a bit surprised to see this Dash-8-300 C-CJNL in Hydro Quebec's colours. Normally they fly a Q400 in and out of Montreal so this is my first siting of a -300. Nothing special but always fun to spot something you haven't see before or seen often.
