The First of Many Buffets

We met up with Scott and Cris' family for lunch once we got on board the ship - the first of many buffets for the week.
As you can see, Scott and I both went for the onboard soda package - for all the soda you could drink on board the ship. Luckily we got different cups so we wouldn't mix them up ;)

Here you get the prices for the visit at Karijini. I would advice you to buy the western australia all happy package at the first DEC counter you fly by (probably Kalbarri National Park). If so these fees will not be of any interest as all national parks are included anyway. You only have to pay for camping then.
Basically there are two camp sites in Karijini, the Eco retreat, famous and well known (even saw an article in magazines lately) and a public camp site. For some reason I voted for the public campsite this night, which is totally the wrong way to go. Better start from the west, meaning Eco Retreat and work your way through to the east, the public campsite.
Keep in mind there is no way of fast and comfortable travel within the park, as the roads tend to be corrugated later in the season. As an advantage, most attraction of the park can be reached with all in all 50 km of drive.
By the way, make sure you are not running out of fuel ;-)
