I just got back from vacation .. went up north (again) .. and this time we did the Pierce Stocking drive (among other things). There one stop along the drive where there is a steep 450' dune that you can climb down (and then back up!) if you choose.
We chose to merely watch the climbers. One intrepid climber said that it took her well over an hour to make it back up to the top. Er ... pass!
Don't get me wrong, I climbed my fair share of dunes. Just not this one.
