From across the street, you can sorta see how the lighthouse isn't really that tall for a lighthouse. Nothing like the Guiness-record Cape Hatteras lighthouse that I went up as a kid. And yet, this lighthouse is sufficient for the light being seen to the edge of the earth. That is, it doesn't need to be any higher to reach the edge of the curvature of the earth.

Carolyn decided to take the free shuttle boat to the North Beach Island one last time. Nobody wanted to go with her, so she went alone.
