Some cool animal control images:
Remmy has her emergency foster home--wish her continued good luck!

Remmy came into the Metro Animal Services shelter in Louisville, KY as a stray, though the person who called Animal Control told the officer who her owner is. She came in with a male; I didn't know he was there, and he was killed; since they were going to kill Remmy a day before her stray wait period was up, they must have killed the male early. I noticed Remmy in the kennel, both because of her skinniness and because she is so friendly. When I walked by, she'd wag her tail so hard her whole butt wagged with it. On Saturday, I stopped the guy walking Remmy to the euthanasia room, just because I couldn't stand it that she would have such a horrible life, spend 5 days stuck in a concrete and chain link kennel, and go straight to her death. I managed to get her a chance, but she is not out of danger yet. She needs a temporary foster where she can be fed 3 or 4 times a day, and where either she's the only dog or we know she gets along with the other dog(s). Once she's gained enough weight, she can be spayed and then she can be adopted, if we can find her a good home.
The top two photos were taken Sunday afternoon, the first day she was allowed outside. The bottom two were taken yesterday, and while she is still horribly skinny, she's losing that hangdog look (pardon the pun). If you are willing to foster her or know anyone who is, please contact me at 530-635-6309, eileeneckert@hotmail.com or by Flickr mail.
