I don't know if this one will be headed for the wilderness of North and South Carolina, but no matter this young Red Wolf is a representative of the future of this critically endangered species that is clawing its way back from the brink. Still a long way to go...

There are a number of exotic animals from around the world at the Oregon Zoo, yet the animals I was drawn to most were in the Great Northwest exhibit.

This big cat and I had something going on. The whole time I was at Safari Niagara he followed me around. I think I smelled like lunch! :) Unbelievably beautiful, powerful and graceful for an animal this size.
