Some cool vacations for cheap images:
The Photographer Among Us
We all love to get out and shoot, but like all artists, we have lulls in creativity, artists block, whatever we individually call it. However, in a lot of ways, photography is a passion like that of surfing, always searching for that elusive wave, only in this case, we search for that one image that may stir feelings not otherwise experienced or funds not otherwise attained. Whatever your reason, photography is a solitary existence much of the time, but the joys it can bring to those who truly enjoy making pictures are a heck of a lot better than therapy...and a heck of a lot cheaper.
Happy Fourth of July and God Bless you all!

Paris flight disruption and cancellation

My mother is a rather superstitious and spiritual person. As for myself, I'm generally not, but then the Chinese has an old saying "better to believe it than not to."
Back in Janaury when flights to Europe for spring went on sale, I began to plan my trip to Ireland in either May or June. My mother went to the temple and asked for the fortune on if May or June is a better time for her precious son to travel :D Flights and hotel for June are actually cheaper than in May, so I was kind of planning for June. But the fortune-telling from the temple said June is bad, whereas May is fine.
So I ended up booking my vacation for May (to give her peace of mind), which with hotel and air fares are about CAD 0 (Eur 366) more expensive.
Well, French air traffic controllers went on stirke and disrupted flights on June 11, 12 and 13. When I checked my hotel booking (subsequently cancelled as I moved the dates to May), my original dates of travel would have been June 11 to June 19.
Pure coincidence, or is there something behind the fortune-telling??!

Just got back from an awesome vacation to Salt Lake City and Park City to see my best friend Aaron, where I found out one of the huge benefits of going is... shopping! I'd like to extend a wonderful shout-out to Nordstrom Rack, where I got some Ray Bans and plenty of Ben Sherman for cheap.
Oh, where have you been all my life, Ben Sherman?!
In addictio---er, addition to shopping, we got to see Elvis Costello live with the Utah Symphony Orchestra in Park City, go to Lagoon, and visit some awesome nightclubs and restaurants across the city. Time well, well spent with great company.
PS: it's notoriously hard to get drunk in SLC.
