Portable Alterpiece from Boletice. Southern Bohemia, before 1450. Origins, St Nicolas Church in Boletice at Český Krumlov. Using a portable alterpiece, clergy served the masses while traveling. The slate slab is set into a modest frame with St Barbara and St Agnes.

Located in the Convent of Saint Agnes of Bohemia (Klášter svaté Anežky České), located in the Old Town, Prague, in an area called "Na Františku". It was founded in 1231 by princess Agnes (later known as Saint Agnes of Bohemia), sister of King Wenceslas I. She herself became the first abbess of the monastery in the Order of Saint Clare. The first women came to the convent in autumn 1233 – five nuns from Italian Assisi and seven Bohemian noble-girls. They belonged to the Poor Clares (also called The Order of Poor Ladies) founded by Saints Clare of Assisi and Francis of Assisi in 1212 on Franciscan principles. This was the first convent of the Order of Poor Clares north of the Alps.

Maryland One

They put this particular plane in service about a year to a year and a half ago. It was in the papers and on the news, but until today, I hadn't seen it in person. You would think that it would be placed on regular trips to Maryland, being that it has our flag painted on it, but I had to go to Louisville, KY to see it apparently. Who would have thought.

Also part of my Photo Essay for Take A Class With Dave And Dave Week 33.

Assignment. Photo Essay. This week you may post as many as 8 images that support a coherent theme. I think a minimum of 5 will be necessary to really explore any subject. Please upload your images from start to finish in one go. Tag with cwd331 to 338 (if you go that far.)

This is the assignment I give to my photo two classes. It's going to challenge you in very different ways than the stand alone assignments. Think about the difficulty you have creating a single image around a subject, now you'll need to look at it from different approachesand really stretch. Does your essay hang together? Does the viewer understand more when it's complete? Are all the images of outstanding quality?

My advice to you is to pick a subject you love, and will be able to express well. Plan your images before, yet be open to the moment during the shooting. Effective planning and understanding will facilitate better responsiveness from you, the artist.

Your essays do not need to follow a timeline, but they should study a single theme. I'm being a bit vague on purpose, I don't want to limit your creativity.

Being that all I've done for the past two weeks is travel I chose that as the topic of my "Photo Essay."
