All of a sudden, Shannon said: "Come here, you have to see this. This chipmunk is just hanging out right in front of the cats!" Well, it didn't take me long to realize that he wasn't "hanging out", he was stunned. Time to get the camera, he he. It didn't appear to be mortally wounded, yet. Even though it did have a little punture mark near its neck. After a few minutes of the cats batting it around, Shannon made me try to save it. So I put mysefl between the chipmunk and the cats, which only made them want it MORE. So we grabbed a cardboard box and put it over the chipmunk. After a minute or so, I lifted the box, and the chipmunk RAN for its life. And Vlad sprinted after it as fast as I've ever seen a cat run. And he pounced! I thought the chipmunk was toast, but alas, Vlad came up with nothing but a mouthfull of leaves. Looks like this was one lucky chipmunk.
