One of the trips we made at Octopus Resort was to the village over the hill, where most of the staff lived. We had a traditional kava ceremony led by this awesome character, Grandpa Taimo, who actually turned out to be great-grandpa, with 17 grand-kids he was very proud of.
This is photo #222 in my Project 365 series.
Hilton Hawaii HDR

I don't know if the Hilton Waikoloa Village Hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii is THE biggest hotel in Hawaii, but it has to be in the running! It's huge!
This HDR was taken at the hotels calm, private lagoon. How big is the lagoon? Big enough to accommodate all these paddle boards and kayaks!
Oh, and did I mention the resort has a dolphin lagoon too!

Leaving Macau, I got the only shot of its most prominent casino. Macau will be the Vegas of Asia by 2010 -- count on it. Steve Wynn has a resort under development, and the Venetian is opening an edition here soon. A massive, Epcot like "villages of the world" theme park/casino is also under works.

In their words:

Not sure what they mean by “traditional French Polynesian culture” but charming place to be, that’s for sure.
On the day these were taken, I was there to give a luncheon keynote to the Kamehameha School HS Business Academy, there on a fieldtrip from Keaau.

Saint-Tropez has had a varied history. It was a fifteenth-century military stronghold, an unassuming fishing village at the beginning of the twentieth century, and the first town on this coast to be liberated during World War II (as part of Operation Dragoon). After the war, it became an internationally-known seaside resort, renowned principally because of the influx of artists of the French New Wave in cinema and the Yé-yé movement in music. In latter years, it has been a resort for the European and American jet set and the inevitable hordes of tourists in search of a little Provençal authenticity and an occasional celebrity sighting.
